A Five-Star Rating: Skilled Nursing Facility
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid gave Barton Memorial Hospital's Skilled Nursing Facility a five-star overall rating. Overall ratings include 16 quality measures, in addition to staffing and health inspections.
Quality & Sustainability Award: Cesarean Delivery Rate
The California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) Quality & Sustainability Award: Cesarean Delivery Rate is awarded to hospitals that achieved a target Cesarean Birth rate for three years in a row.

Lake Tahoe's Only Level III Trauma Center
The American College of Surgeons named Barton Memorial Hospital as Lake Tahoe's only Level III Trauma Center offering expanded trauma care services for our region. Trauma centers must meet, at a minimum, 160 different essential criteria, and require consultation and verification visits, education requirements and a certification procedure.
Women's Choice Award
Barton’s orthopedic care was recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals in Orthopedics by the Women’s Choice Award® in 2023. The award recognizes U.S. hospitals with the highest safety ratings for safe surgery practices and lower rates of complications and infections.
