Festivities may look a little different this winter season, but that isn’t stopping some local students from spreading holiday cheer.

Dancers from the Marcia Sarosik Dance Studio who are known in the community as Lake Tahoe’s Shining Stars, have collaborated to give a virtual performance to Barton Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Nursing residents. These high school dancers were filmed by their families separately and then each piece was edited and compiled into one performance video.

The holiday performance will be shared as part of the holiday entertainment at the Barton Skilled Nursing Facility, home to some of the most vulnerable patients at the hospital. Residents can watch the dancers from their rooms, on their own screens.

At a time when public holiday events have been cancelled and social gatherings should be avoided, human connection remains important. Thanks to Ms. Marcia and Lake Tahoe's Shining Stars, the holidays for Barton’s Skilled Nursing residents just got a little brighter and a little more connected.
