Barton Health Expands Access to Care, Welcomes Local Family Medicine Physician to Community Health Center
(South Lake Tahoe, CA) – Barton Health is pleased to welcome Jenifer Norris, MD, formerly of Alpine Family Practice, to its network of care providers. Dr. Norris is a board-certified family practice physician who has joined the care team at Barton’s Community Health Center, an outpatient facility providing primary and specialty healthcare services for the Lake Tahoe region.
“Dr. Norris has treated the diverse health needs of infants, children, and adults in the Lake Tahoe region for many years,” said Dr. Matthew Wonnacott, Chief Medical Officer. "Her deep passion for improving community health is given a broader platform at Barton’s Community Health Center, which increases access to primary care and support programs for all individuals.”
Dr. Norris is bilingual in English and Spanish. She received her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine and completed her residency training at University of California, San Francisco. She has been in practice for more than 28 years. Dr. Norris loves to spend time outdoors—hiking, skiing, biking, and paddling with her husband, James, sons, Ivan and Miguel, and dog, Zephyr.
“My medical training was forged in community medicine, and I’ve worked in several community health centers prior to coming to Tahoe,” said Dr. Norris. “With a particular interest in lifestyle medicine and wellness for the whole family, I’m excited for the opportunity to pursue my calling in service to the community.”
Barton Community Health Center improves the health of individuals and families in partnership with the community by providing a spectrum of evidence-based clinical care and services. Services include general family practice, preventative visits, pediatric care, well-child (CHDP), immunizations, and specialty services, in addition to Barton Health's Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program that addresses opioid misuse.
