Barton Health Presents Free Community Health Fair: Educating Individuals About Health and Wellness
(South Lake Tahoe, Calif.) – Barton Health is excited to announce its upcoming Community Health Fair, an inclusive event to benefit members of the Lake Tahoe community. The event is an opportunity for individuals to connect with healthcare providers and explore various resources for managing their health and wellness effectively.
“We are thrilled to host the Community Health Fair in partnership with Lake Tahoe Unified School District and El Dorado County, as it allows us to connect with community members in a meaningful and accessible way,” Barton Health’s Director of Community Benefit, Chris Proctor. “By offering a chance to meet face-to-face with community care providers, we hope to support individuals to make informed decisions about their well-being and take proactive steps toward a healthier future.”
El Dorado County Public Health Department will provide flu vaccines and COVID-19 vaccines and boosters at the event. Vaccinations reduce the risk of flu illness by between 40% and 60% in adults. The annual vaccine remains the most effective way to protect yourself.
Additional health services available at the event include blood pressure checks, Covered CA Enrollment, substance use information, information about pathways for hearing loss, concussion education, nutrition guidance, CPR training, dental evaluation, family resources, and more. Spanish translation services are available.
Barton Health’s Community Health Fair will be held on October 19 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bijou Elementary School. The event is open to all community members, and no registration is required. Attendees are encouraged to bring their family and friends to make the most of this informative and engaging event. A complimentary meal will be provided by Tacos Por Favor.
