Running Video Analysis
Gait analysis is the systematic study of human motion, using the eye and the brain of an observer, augmented by instrumentation for measuring body movements, body mechanics, and the activity of the muscles. This process is facilitated through the use of computer-interfaced video cameras to measure patient motion.
A running analysis is designed to assess the client's running mechanics through video gait analysis. The therapist will evaluate and assess foot mechanics on land and treadmill, discuss strategies to successfully modify running gait, and if needed recommend custom orthotics. The overall goal is to improve running mechanics.
