Billing & Financial Services
Helping You Understanding Your Medical Bills
We know medical billing is complicated which is why we are working to make the process easier for our patients.
Hospitals may have multiple entities who bill patients separately. You should expect a bill from Barton Health for the services provided within our facility. You may also receive a bill from other doctors/providers who have provided you a service.
Following your medical procedure, you will receive a statement that includes details related to your date of service and the amount you owe after insurance, specifically due to Barton (other providers will bill separately). Your payment is due within 30 days.
Initial statements are sent out the day after an account has a full balance due, and are sent out every 28 days. In addition to the initial statement you will receive four more statements indicating the balance due upon receipt. In total, you will receive five statements before receiving a final notice. The final notice is a pre-collection letter informing you that payment must be made within 30 days to avoid being sent to collections. If no payment is received and payment arrangements have not been made your account may be sent to a collection agency.
Barton offers interest-free payment plans and once you set up a payment plan and pay on time, you will not continue to receive notices about your overdue amount.

Price Estimator Tool
To make the billing process easier to understand and give you an idea of what you will owe for certain procedures, our Price Estimator Tool can be used to help estimate your out-of-pocket cost for a planned surgery or medical imaging service prior to specific procedures performed at Barton.
The tool works by pulling in rates for procedures and insurance contracts. It factors in how much of your deductible has been met resulting in an out-of-pocket estimated cost for you to be aware of prior to your procedure. By using this tool, you will:
- Plan ahead financially by knowing your out-of-pocket costs
- Simplify your billing process by knowing your estimated costs prior to a procedure
To receive an out-of-pocket cost estimate, please call our Patient Access Representative at 775.364.1475. For planned surgeries, a patient access representative will contact you prior to your procedure to provide you with your estimated out-of-pocket cost along with other pre-visit information.
